Dear colleagues and friends,
Ivanovo Model United Nations Group (Ivanovo, Russia) and Ivanovo Association of Youth Diplomacy are glad to invite your school to the XXII International MUN Conference to be held November 18 – 20, 2014.
Since its creation in 1992, Ivanovo Conference though having changed its name from “Russia and the World Community” to “Challenges of the 21st Century” has become an annual tradition of productive debate, cooperation, and friendship, with each progressing year more outstanding than the last. We at Ivanovo hope to make 22nd Conference the best yet with your attendance
The purpose of the conference is to bring together old friends and welcome new ones to have a cultural exchange between the youth of different backgrounds as well as to elaborate productive solutions to the problems shaking the world.
The Conference is to consist of 2 forums:
- the Security Council (SC).
- the General Assembly (GA), which include 2 committees (see the AGENDA)
- As usual each of the Committees is to be represented by 1 delegate. We’ll do our best to honor your preferences in country assignments.
To make debates more educational and fruitful, we would like to have regular lobbying which is to take place on the 1st day of the conference. Each delegate will have an opportunity to discuss the interested issue with other delegates during lobbying time and then they will present the resolution draft to the Chairs of the Committees. Further debate over the clauses is open to everyone. All schools are encouraged to have lots of individual operative clauses ready to present them during lobbying time and make resolutions out if them.
We would like all the delegates to take part in making the Action Paper, a renowned form of a simulation game aiming at developing language skills and creative thinking. The Action Paper will be devoted to a vital document which for many years has been the basic guideline for protecting the rights of people. The students are to think and to present their ideas on the topic “The 65th Anniversary of Universal Declaration of Human rights: reviewing the progress.” The Action Paper will be an expression of the Forum on the issues of basic rights and freedoms for all groups of people including the most vulnerable ones. The Action Paper Team will work in close cooperation with all the Committees. If you want to be part of the Team, please, join.
Each school wishing to participate is to send application forms, stating personal information, country/committee preferences etc. Forms are to be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org. The deadline for the application Form 1 is September, 20.
Each delegate is to pay a registration fee (appr. 30 Euro). The fee includes working materials (placards, badges etc.), lunch (once a day) and closing disco party.
Unfortunately we cannot provide free accommodation for the participants, as well as cover travel and other expenses; however we are glad to help our guests with booking hotel rooms, if required.
